We all go through times when there’s barely enough cash to pay the basic bills, making Date Night seem out of the question.
What if I told you date night is still possible, even on a super tight budget?
It is possible. The most important thing is to set your budget first, so there is no confusion or disappointment when you are already out and about.
Follow these six tips and you will become a pro at dating on a dime!
- Eat dinner at home. Have the kids go to a friend or neighbor’s house. Even though it’s at home, it can still be memorable and romantic. Splurge, and combine this one with #5 for an extra wonderful date!
- Go out for coffee and dessert. It’s still a date, just not as costly. And the nice thing is, you can linger over coffee and really enjoy each other’s company.
- Warmer weather = picnics. The city of Seattle alone has over 400 parks. That’s a lot of choices for places to have a picnic. Swing by the grocery store a few days before your date, and buy some specialty cheese, grapes and gourmet sandwich supplies.
- Take a walk. Look around – walking paths are everywhere. Take advantage of that, and go for a walk, holding hands with your sweetie.
- Movie night! You can’t beat Redbox at less than two bucks per movie rental. Pop some popcorn and get cozy.
- For extra fun, mix two or three of the above choices. How about dinner at home, a walk, and then a movie? Or a picnic, a walk, dessert, and coffee? Still low budget, but extra fun if you have the time set aside to spend together.
