My New Crazy Idea

Think of all the money you could save if you didn’t have to pay for date night.

Do you ever have a crazy idea, and you try to push it away, but it keeps coming back?

That’s what happened to me recently.

So, I shared my idea with Hubby and we talked about it.

Here’s what was brewing in my mind: going on strictly free dates for one month.

What?

Yep, I know it’s crazy-but I believe it’s a worthy experiment for two reasons.

1. Everyone can use more ideas for date nights, especially when they’re FREE.
2. Our budget is tight, so now is the perfect time to give it a try.

We’ve got a lot going against us like: wet, rainy weather, and the fact that just about everything costs money these days. But not everything. There is a whole world out there of free experiences that most people don’t even realize are there. When we’re so busy doling out cash we could be saving, we’re passing those opportunities by.

After tossing the idea around, we decided we have nothing to lose.

So, here goes. From here on out, we have a goal to go on NO COST dates for one month, starting the weekend of November 2nd until the weekend of November 30th.

Here are the rules we will follow:

• We will allow ourselves to use gift cards or vouchers that are already in our possession, but not if they involve tips.  If we did that, it wouldn’t be a free date.
• We will also take advantage of any memberships we have, we just can’t pull any new money out-of-pocket to pay for any part of our date.
• Gas is not included in the free part. We’re not going to be that cheap.

I’ll be honest, I’m a little nervous on whether we can pull this off.
